NEET UG 2026 Counselling Schedule: All Round Dates from MCC

The Medical Counselling Committee has released the NEET UG 2026 counselling schedule. Round 1 registration on mcc.nic.in opens on 5 August 2026 and the first seat allotment result is due on 17 August 2026. The schedule was published on 1 August 2026 and covers the 15% All India Quota plus 100% of seats in Deemed and Central Universities, AIIMS institutions and JIPMER, for MBBS, BDS and B.Sc Nursing.

Latest Updates

[26 Aug 2026, 3:35 AM IST] MCC Notice no. 14, dated 24.08.2026 (Ref. U-11011/07/2026-MEC), has been machine-read in full from the official PDF. It confirms the Round 1 final result is live and adds one point not in the earlier page listing: Freeze and Float options have been introduced this cycle under “Changes in Allotment, Reporting, Upgradation & Withdrawal (Resignation) of Allotted Seat” in Chapter 2 of the revised UG Information Bulletin dated 20.08.2026, and candidates are told to read that chapter before reporting. Per the revised AIQ schedule dated 19.08.2026, reporting and joining at the allotted college runs to 31 August 2026, with institute verification of joined candidates on 1 September 2026. 24 Aug 2026, 6:30 PM IST MCC has declared the Final Result for Round 1 of UG Counselling 2026. Candidates allotted a seat should now report to their allotted college, after reading Chapter 2 of the Information Bulletin. Source: MCC UG Medical Counselling — Current Events.

[24 Aug 2026, 12:40 PM IST] Choice Locking for AIQ Round 1 is now open on the MCC portal, the step after the revised provisional result. Candidates who confirm and lock their choice cannot make further changes for this round; those who do not lock will have their last saved choice order considered automatically. [23 Aug 2026, 3:00 PM IST] MCC has posted a revised provisional result for AIQ Round 1. The UG counselling page now lists a “Revised Provisional Result for UG Counselling Round 1” dated 21.08.2026, alongside a “Revised UG Counselling 2026 Information Bulletin” dated 20.08.2026, both machine-read from the official page listing (portal HTML, titles and dates only — the underlying PDFs were not opened this run). This confirms the result stage moved and was completed on 21 August as the 19 August schedule projected. Candidates should check their login for the revised provisional allotment and watch for the final result before proceeding to reporting. Source: MCC UG Medical Counselling — Current Events.

[19 Aug 2026, 6:32 PM IST] MCC has revised the Round 1 schedule again. Two notices dated 19.08.2026 are now on the UG counselling page, and this desk machine-read both official PDFs in full and cross-checked every date against the rendered scan. The AIQ Round 1 seat allotment result now moves to 21 August 2026. Seat-allotment processing runs 19–20 August, reporting and joining at the allotted college run 22–31 August 2026, and institutes verify joined-candidate data on 1 September 2026. Registration closed at 3:00 PM on 15 August and choice filling closed at 11:59 PM on 18 August — both unchanged. The second notice sets the overall admission calendar: AIQ / Deemed / Central Round 1 runs 4–21 August with joining by 31 August, while State counselling Round 1 runs 13–27 August with joining by 5 September 2026. [19 Aug 2026, 1:28 PM IST] Round 1 result day has arrived and the result is not out yet. At 1:28 PM the official MCC UG counselling page carried no seat-allotment result, and no revised schedule has replaced the Revised Schedule for Round 1 dated 13.08.2026, which still lists the result on 19 August and reporting from 20 to 25 August. The newest notice on the page is still Notice No. 10 dated 17.08.2026, the Latest News block now reads that choice locking is available, and an NRI List of Eligible Candidates for UG Round 1 (2026-27) dated 18.08.2026 has been added. The page stamp reads Last Updated: Aug 19, 2026. Source: mcc.nic.in UG Medical Counselling.

[19 Aug 2026, 12:45 AM IST] The standing Round 1 dates come from MCC Notice No. 08 dated 13.08.2026, which this desk machine-read in full from the official PDF: seat matrix verification 14 August; registration and payment 5–15 August; choice filling 6–17 August; processing of seat allotment 18 August; result 19 August; reporting and joining 20–25 August; verification of joined candidates’ data by institutes 26 August 2026. Notice No. 10 dated 17.08.2026 then extended choice filling to 11:59 PM on 18 August without publishing a new result date, so the 19 August result date still stands on paper but now sits one day after a window that was itself extended. Watch the MCC UG counselling page rather than any news site for a revision.

[19 Aug 2026, 12:25 AM IST] Round 1 choice filling has now closed. MCC Notice No. 10 dated 17.08.2026 had extended choice filling to 11:59 PM on 18 August 2026, with choice locking available from 5:30 PM on 17 August; that window has now passed. MCC has still published no revised Round 1 seat allotment result date. Separately, MCC published the NRI list of eligible candidates for UG Round 1 (2026-27) on 18 August 2026. [17 Aug 2026, 7:02 PM IST] MCC has extended the Round 1 choice-filling deadline. Notice No. 10 dated 17.08.2026 states that choice filling for Round 1 of UG Counselling 2026 is extended up to 11:59 PM on 18 August 2026, and that choice locking started at 5:30 PM on 17 August 2026 — not 10:00 AM to 6:00 PM on 17 August as the 13 August revised schedule had said. MCC has not published a revised seat-allotment processing or result date alongside this extension, so the 18 and 19 August dates in the table below are the last officially stated ones. Source: MCC Notice No. 10 dated 17.08.2026, listed on the official MCC UG counselling page.

[16 Aug 2026, 3:46 PM IST] MCC has published a Revised Schedule for Round 1, notice dated 13.08.2026, and it is now listed under Current Events on the official MCC UG counselling page. Registration and payment closed at 2:00 PM on 15 August (payment facility to 5:00 PM). Choice filling stays open until 6:00 PM on 17 August, and choice locking runs from 10:00 AM to 6:00 PM on 17 August — the window that never opened earlier now has a firm date. Seat allotment is processed on 18 August and the Round 1 result is declared on 19 August. Reporting and joining at the allotted college runs 20–25 August, and institutes verify joined candidates’ data on 26 August. All times are server time.

[13 Aug 2026, 12:35 PM IST] The Round 1 choice-locking window has now passed without ever opening. Under the schedule MCC published on 01.08.2026, choice locking was to run from 4:00 PM on 12 August to 11:00 AM today, and choice filling was to close at that same 11:00 AM. More than an hour after the deadline, the MCC UG counselling page still carries its notice — still flagged as new — that choice locking has not started and that its timing will be announced separately. MCC has issued no revised schedule: the most recent notice on the page is still the CW supplementary list dated 11.08.2026. If you submitted choices but were never able to lock them, MCC’s own UG Information Bulletin 2026 says choices left unlocked are locked automatically as per the schedule, so submitted choices should still count. Round 1 processing is scheduled for 13–16 August and the seat allotment result for 17 August. Keep checking the MCC site rather than acting on any unofficial message. [13 Aug 2026, 9:45 AM IST] With about an hour and a quarter left before Round 1 choice filling closes at 11:00 AM today, the MCC UG counselling page still carries its notice that choice locking has not started and that the time for it will be announced separately. On what happens to choices you were never able to lock: MCC’s own UG Information Bulletin 2026 (dated 01.08.2026) answers this in its FAQ — if a candidate does not lock the choices submitted, they “will be automatically locked as per schedule”. The bulletin also states that choices once locked cannot be unlocked even by MCC, and that a printout of the system-locked choices becomes available after locking. So the practical step is to save your choices in your true order of preference before 11:00 AM rather than waiting for a locking window to appear. Source: mcc.nic.in UG counselling.

[13 Aug 2026, 12:40 AM IST] Overnight check: choice locking has still not opened. The MCC UG counselling page continues to carry its notice that choice locking has not started and that the time for it will be announced separately. The AIQ schedule published on 01.08.2026 shows choice filling closing at 11:00 AM today, 13 August 2026, and MCC has issued no notice changing that time. Fill and save your choices in your true order of preference well before 11:00 AM, then keep checking the MCC site for the locking window. Source: MCC UG Medical Counselling page.

[12 Aug 2026, 9:35 PM IST] MCC has put up a notice on its UG counselling page saying that choice locking for Round 1 has not started yet, and that the time for choice locking will be announced separately. The AIQ schedule published on 01.08.2026 had shown choice locking running from 4:00 PM on 12 August to 11:00 AM on 13 August, so anyone who planned to lock tonight should keep checking the MCC site instead of assuming that window is live. Choice filling is still shown as open until 11:00 AM on 13 August, and no notice revising the registration or payment cut-offs has been posted. Source: MCC UG Medical Counselling.

[11 Aug 2026, 11:20 PM IST] Two changes landed on the MCC UG counselling page today, and both matter before tomorrow’s cut-off. First, MCC has published the exact route for anyone who did not select the Delhi seats quota (DU/IP — VMMC and RML — MBBS, BDS and B.Sc. Nursing) when they registered: Registration Unlocking → Unlock Registration → Qualification → Apply for Section → tick the Delhi quota checkbox → Final Submit Application → fill choices. Second, a “Supplementary List of eligible candidates under CW Category for admission to UG Medical Courses (MBBS/BDS/BAMS/BUMS/BHMS) 2026-2027 under 85% Delhi Quota” has been added to the same page. The timing is the point: AIQ Round 1 registration closes on 12 August at 3:00 PM with fee payment until 6:00 PM, choice locking runs from 4:00 PM on 12 August to 11:00 AM on 13 August, and choice filling itself ends at 11:00 AM on 13 August. Read from the MCC page HTML, which carries “Last Updated: Aug 11, 2026”; the two PDFs themselves were not machine-read this run. Source: mcc.nic.in/ug-medical-counselling.

[11 Aug 2026, 6:35 AM IST] A hard deadline expires at 8:00 AM today for one small group. On the Medical Counselling Committee’s recommendation, the University of Delhi’s Faculty of Medical Sciences re-opened its CW portal — the document-upload window for Children and Widows of Armed Forces personnel claiming the admission concession in NEET UG 2026 — from 5:00 PM on 9 August 2026. The notice states the portal closes at 8:00 AM on 11 August 2026 strictly, with no extension, because DU has to verify and forward the eligible list to MCC before Round 1 registration closes. Machine-read from the notice PDF (No. FMDS//2026/CW-NEET, dated 09.08.2026), which MCC lists on its UG counselling page as “Notice for Re-Opening CW Portal 2026 dated 10.08.2026”. Source: MCC / DU FMSc notice (PDF). MCC also posted an “Additional Merit list for Puducherry domicile dated 10.08.2026” the same day; that PDF has no text layer and was not read, so its contents are not reported here.

[11 Aug 2026, 3:45 AM IST] Round 1 is now inside its final 36 hours. MCC’s official AIQ Round 1 schedule (PDF dated 01.08.2026, text machine-read from the portal) closes registration at 3:00 PM on 12 August 2026, with the payment facility open until 6:00 PM the same day, server time. Choice filling then closes at 11:00 AM on 13 August 2026, and choice locking is open from 4:00 PM on 12 August until 11:00 AM on 13 August. Seat allotment is processed 13–16 August, the Round 1 result is due on 17 August 2026, and reporting at the allotted college runs 18–22 August 2026. [08 Aug 2026, 8:45 PM IST] MCC issued three notices dated 07.08.2026 on its UG counselling page: a Notice for start of Choice Filling Round 1 (choice filling, originally slated for 6 August, was announced as starting via this 7 August notice), a Notice for a Reset Registration option (a chance to correct registration mistakes), and a notice on the NMC Addendum and Appellate Boards for PwBD candidates. An additional merit list for Puducherry domicile dated 06.08.2026 is also up. The Round 1 registration window itself still shows as running to 12 August. All three notices are PDFs linked from the official page — open them there for the exact operative text. Source: mcc.nic.in/ug-medical-counselling.

[03 Aug 2026, 12:20 PM IST] MCC updated its UG counselling page today. The Candidate Activity Board now states plainly that registration for UG counselling starts on 5 August 2026 — the official portal itself now settles the 4-versus-5 August confusion. MCC has also put up a 24×7 toll-free helpline and the query email mcc2026@gov.in, plus a fresh “Notice for UG Counselling 2026 Participating Candidates” dated 03.08.2026. That notice is a scanned image with no machine-readable text, so its contents are not summarised here — open it on the MCC site yourself. Source: mcc.nic.in/ug-medical-counselling.

[03 Aug 2026, 7:45 AM IST] A clarification, because several news reports are headlining that NEET UG counselling “begins on 4 August”. In MCC’s official Round 1 schedule, 4 August 2026 is the day the participating institutes verify the tentative seat matrix — an institute-side step, not a candidate one. Candidate registration and fee payment still open on 5 August 2026, exactly as listed above, so there is nothing for a student to do on the MCC portal on 4 August. Round 1 — the dates that matter now

StageDates (2026)
Registration and fee payment5 August to 12 August. Registration closes 3:00 PM, payment window closes 6:00 PM on 12 August (server time)
Choice filling6 August to 11:00 AM on 13 August
Choice locking4:00 PM on 12 August to 11:00 AM on 13 August
Seat allotment processing13 August to 16 August
Round 1 result17 August
Reporting / joining at allotted college18 August to 22 August
Institutes verify joined candidate data23 August

Two details cost students seats every year. First, registration and payment close on 12 August but choice filling stays open a few hours longer — do not read the later date as extra time to register. Second, all times are server time, not your phone clock, so treat the stated hour as a hard cut-off and finish well before it.

Rounds 2, 3 and the stray vacancy round

StageRound 2Round 3Stray vacancy round
Registration / payment25–29 Aug (3:00 PM; payment to 6:00 PM)11–15 Sep (3:00 PM; payment to 6:00 PM)28–30 Sep (3:00 PM; payment to 6:00 PM)
Choice filling25–30 Aug (to 11:00 PM)11 Sep to 11:00 AM on 16 Sep28–30 Sep (to 11:00 PM)
Allotment processing31 Aug – 1 Sep16–17 Sep1–2 Oct
Result2 September18 September3 October
Reporting / joining3–8 September19–26 September4–10 October

Each round needs a fresh look at the seat matrix, which participating institutes verify a day before registration opens — 24 August for Round 2, 10 September for Round 3 and 27 September for the stray round. Seats and cut-offs shift between rounds, so a college that looked out of reach in Round 1 may not be in Round 3.

State quota counselling runs alongside

MCC has also published a combined All India Quota and state quota calendar, so students can see how the two tracks overlap. State counselling is run by your state authority, not by MCC, but the outer dates are fixed centrally.

RoundAll India QuotaState quotaLast date of joining (AIQ / state)

Round 310–18 September16–26 September26 September / 1 October
Stray vacancy28 September – 3 October3–5 October10 October / 10 October

The MBBS and BDS academic session is scheduled to begin on 8 September 2026. MCC has also directed participating institutes to treat Saturdays, Sundays and gazetted holidays as working days during counselling, so do not assume an office will be shut on a weekend reporting date.

What to do before 5 August

The registration window is only a week long, and the documents are the part that goes wrong. Get these ready as scanned copies now, in the sizes the information bulletin specifies:

  • NEET UG 2026 admit card and scorecard or rank letter
  • Class 10 and Class 12 mark sheets and passing certificates
  • Birth certificate or Class 10 certificate showing date of birth
  • School-leaving or transfer certificate
  • Recent passport-size photographs matching the one on the admit card
  • Government photo ID
  • Category, PwBD, NRI or other eligibility certificates where they apply, in the format the bulletin prescribes

Read the UG Information Bulletin 2026, also dated 1 August 2026, before you pay anything. The bulletin, not a coaching video, is what decides whether your certificate format is accepted.

Points worth watching

PwBD candidates should read the current notice on the MCC page, which was revised on 31 July 2026 in line with the NMC UGMEB corrigendum on Appendix D. An older version was circulating a day earlier.

MCC has said counselling this year involves changes to document verification and reporting. Check the bulletin for how verification applies to your category rather than relying on how a senior described last year’s process.

Finally, no schedule is safe from revision. Extensions and corrigenda are common in medical counselling, and they are always posted on the MCC page first. Do not rely on a forwarded PDF or a message in a group.

The schedule above tells you when. If a caller offers you a seat for a payment, read fake admission calls and website safety first — MCC allots seats only through its own portal.
