Schools affiliated to the CISCE have been asked to do two things on the board’s CAREERS Portal at the same time, according to news reports: confirm the entries of students who will sit the ICSE and ISC 2027 examinations, and register the batches who will sit the 2028 examinations. The reported last dates are 15 September 2026 for confirming 2027 entries, 31 October 2026 for ICSE 2028 registration and 15 November 2026 for ISC 2028 registration, with late charges after the first two. Your school files all of this, not you — but what it files is the name, date of birth and subject combination that will be printed on your board certificate. That is why it is worth checking now rather than after a deadline closes.
Confirmation status
Reported, not yet confirmed — and still unconfirmed one week on. Indian Express (10 August 2026), Amar Ujala (8 August 2026) and CareerIndia (10 August 2026) reported that CISCE has opened confirmation of entries for the 2027 examination and registration for ICSE 2028 and ISC 2028, with the last dates given on this page. As of 19 August 2026, 12:20 AM IST, the CISCE public circulars page has still published no circular confirming any of these dates — the newest public circular there remains the Health and Physical Education notice dated 23 July 2026. The registration circular is understood to sit on the CAREERS portal, which only schools can log into, so it is not publicly verifiable. Seven days after this page first went up, that position has not changed. Treat these dates as a news report, not as an official announcement: schools should follow the circular in their own CAREERS login, and students and parents should confirm with their school before assuming any deadline. This page will be updated when the official position changes.

Who this actually affects
Two different groups, and it is easy to mix them up.
- You are in Class 10 or Class 12 right now and sit the boards in early 2027. You were registered a year ago. What is happening now is confirmation of entries — your school is checking and locking the details already on record. This is your last comfortable chance to have an error fixed.
- You are in Class 9 or Class 11 right now and sit the boards in 2028. This is your first registration with the board. Everything your school enters — spelling of your name, your parents’ names, date of birth, subject combination — starts here.
Neither group logs in themselves. Schools sign in to the CAREERS Portal using a principal, school or staff code. There is nothing for a student to fill in online.
What to check before your school submits
Ask your class teacher or the exam cell for a printout or screen view of your entry, and read it against your own documents rather than from memory. These are the fields that cause trouble later:
- Name spelling, exactly. Match it to your birth certificate or Class 9 admission record — not to how people write it in daily life. A single missing letter is a mismatch when a university verifies your certificate.
- Date of birth. The single most common correction request across every board in India, and the hardest one to fix after results.
- Father’s and mother’s names. Same rule: match the school record, keep it identical across every document.
- Subject combination. Especially in Class 11 if you changed a subject after admission. If the change was approved by the school but never updated in the board record, you will be entered for the wrong paper.
- Category and any concession you are entitled to, if your school has recorded one for you.
This is the same discipline that applies to any board or entrance form. We wrote about it in detail in filling an online exam form: the entries you cannot undo, and the principle does not change here just because a teacher is doing the typing.
If a detail is already wrong
According to the same reports, schools can send a modification request for an already-registered candidate through the CAREERS Portal, along with supporting documents. So the route exists — but it runs through your school, and it needs paper. If you spot an error, take the document that proves the correct version to the school office now, while the window is open, instead of waiting for a correction window that may never be announced separately.
How to tell when this becomes official
CISCE publishes circulars for schools on the CAREERS Portal first; the public site does not always mirror them. Two places are worth watching: the Circulars page and the Notifications archive on cisce.org. If a circular with these dates appears there, the schedule above stops being a news report and becomes official. The most reliable check in the meantime is simply to ask your school whether it has received the circular — every affiliated school gets it before any news outlet does.
For a running list of dated windows across boards and entrance exams, see our Important Dates calendar. Parents tracking deadlines for a child in Class 9 to 12 may find the Parent Zone more useful as a starting point.
A note on safety
Because this registration runs on a school login, no genuine person will ever need a password or an OTP from a student for it. If a message, call or website asks you to “complete your ICSE registration” by entering a password, an OTP, bank details or an Aadhaar number, it is not the board. CISCE’s published helpdesk address for portal problems is helpdesk@cisce.org, and a school’s exam cell can raise the issue directly.
While you wait
Registration is a school-side formality; the exam is not. If you are the 2027 or 2028 ICSE batch, the useful thing to do this month is start the syllabus properly rather than refresh a portal you cannot log in to. Our ICSE Class 10 Computer Applications set begins with values and data types in Java. Students on other boards facing a parallel registration cycle can compare how it works at UP Board 2027 registration, where the official dates are already published.
Always confirm on the official website before acting.
