Every year, the same question fills student groups from around September: “When is the CBSE date sheet coming?” For the 2027 board exams, here is what is realistically expected — and, more importantly, what you should be doing while you wait instead of refreshing the website.
Expected timeline
Based on CBSE’s usual pattern, a tentative date sheet is expected around September 2026, with the detailed subject-wise schedule for Class 10 and Class 12 following in the weeks after. The board examinations themselves are expected to begin in February 2027. Practical exams usually run earlier — in November–December 2026 for winter-bound schools and around January 2027 for the rest. These are expected timelines, so always confirm the final dates on the official CBSE website once released.
Why the date sheet matters less than you think
Students often wait for the date sheet to “start serious study.” That is backwards. By the time the detailed schedule arrives, you usually have a limited window left, and the gaps between papers are rarely as generous as everyone hopes. The students who do well treat the whole year as preparation time and use the date sheet only to fine-tune revision order.
What to do right now
Finish your first full pass of the syllabus before the date sheet arrives, so the last months are for revision and practice, not first-time learning. Keep a subject-wise list of weak chapters. Start solving sample papers under time. And when the date sheet does come, simply map your revision to the gaps between papers — more time to the tougher subjects, a lighter touch on the ones you are confident in.
