CBSE has declared the Class 10 Second Board (Supplementary/Compartment) Examination Result 2026. The Board issued an official press release on cbse.gov.in confirming the result, which is now live on the government results portal. The result applies to students who appeared in the Class 10 Second Board examination held in July 2026 after not clearing one or more subjects in the main exam.
The most important thing before you start: check your result at results.digilocker.gov.in, using the Class X Second Board or Class X Supplementary link. The older address results.cbse.nic.in no longer resolves — a “site can’t be reached” error there does not mean the result is not out.

How to check your CBSE Class 10 second board result 2026: step by step
- Open results.digilocker.gov.in in any browser — type the address yourself rather than clicking a forwarded link.
- On the CBSE panel, select the Class X Second Board (or Supplementary) option. There are separate links for Class X main, Class XII main, and compartment results — picking the wrong one returns a blank or “record not found” screen.
- Enter your roll number, school number, admit card ID and date of birth exactly as on your admit card. A dropped leading zero in the school number is the most common error.
- Submit and read your subject-wise marks and overall result status before closing the page.
- Download the PDF scorecard and take a screenshot as a backup. The portal may be slow immediately after a result goes live.
The scorecard on result day is a provisional statement. Your school issues the final marksheet and passing certificate. The document also appears in your Aadhaar-linked DigiLocker account — if it does not show up there, give it 24–48 hours before concluding it is missing.
You cleared the second board exam — what comes next
A second board pass is a full pass. Your Class 10 is complete and you can now pursue Class 11 admission, ITI, polytechnic or any other course that requires a Class 10 pass. The practical challenge is timing: most Class 11 admission rounds in CBSE and state board schools begin in May–June. With the result arriving in mid-August, late admission is the route to explore:
- Contact schools directly — many keep seats for compartment-cleared students, especially if you can produce the result quickly.
- Private schools and open-schooling institutions typically have more flexibility on admission dates than government schools.
- ITI and polytechnic admissions run on different cycles and often have late rounds open into September.
- Check any application form where you disclosed a pending compartment result — update it with your new scorecard as soon as the portal allows.

You did not clear it — options that are still open
Not clearing the Class 10 second board exam is not the end of the road. The realistic options:
- NIOS (National Institute of Open Schooling): NIOS allows you to carry forward subjects you have already passed and appear only in the subject(s) you failed. Its next cycle typically has registration in September–October for an April examination. Details at nios.ac.in.
- CBSE as a private/compartment candidate: You can appear as a private candidate in the CBSE annual examination next year. Private candidate registration usually opens in September–November — check cbse.gov.in for the circular.
- Verification of marks: If your score is far lower than expected, you can apply for a scanned copy of your answer book or marks verification. The August 2026 window (16–19 August) has closed, but CBSE sometimes opens brief windows after the compartment cycle — watch cbse.gov.in.

Why results.cbse.nic.in no longer works
results.cbse.nic.in no longer resolves — the domain is gone, not simply overloaded. A “site can’t be reached” error there will look identical to a busy server on result day. Go directly to results.digilocker.gov.in or reach it from the official notice on cbse.gov.in. The same shift happened for Class 12 results — see our Class 12 supplementary result guide for full background on why CBSE moved away from results.cbse.nic.in.
Before you enter anything on the portal
CBSE never asks for a password, OTP, bank detail or Aadhaar number to show you a result. All you need is your roll number, school number, admit card ID and date of birth — every one of which is on your admit card. Any page, message or caller asking for more is not CBSE. Do not pay anyone who claims they can “release” or “upgrade” your result.
