CSIR UGC NET June 2026 Correction Window Guide

Correction Checklist

  • Open the official CSIR NET or NTA website.
  • Read the correction notice before logging in.
  • Check name, date of birth, category, subject, photo, signature and exam-city details if the notice allows editing.
  • Preview the corrected form before final submission.
  • Download or save the final confirmation page after correction.

The CSIR UGC NET correction window is for fixing application mistakes before exam processing moves ahead. First read the NTA notice, then edit only the fields that the portal allows.

Understanding Editable vs. Locked Fields

The NTA does not allow a complete rewrite of the application. Core identity fields—such as your registered mobile number, email address, and generally your name—remain locked to prevent fraud.

You must check the official public notice PDF from your dashboard to see the exact list of permissible edits. Typically, you can amend academic qualifications, category status, subject choices, and re-upload blurry photographs or signatures.

Category Changes and Additional Fees

If you mistakenly applied under the General category but possess a valid OBC-NCL or EWS certificate, you can update this. Conversely, if you lack a valid certificate, you must change your status to General.

Changing your category may impact your application fee. If your new category requires a higher fee, you must pay the difference through the online gateway. Your corrections will not be saved until this payment clears.

Re-uploading Photographs and Signatures

A blurry photograph or an improper signature is a common reason for admit card delays. Use this window to verify your uploads.

Ensure your photograph has a clear background, your face is fully visible without masks, and the image size strictly matches the kilobyte limits specified in the original information bulletin.

The Finality of the Submit Button

The correction facility is a one-time opportunity. Once you click the final submit button, your profile is locked permanently. You cannot log back in later to make a second round of edits.

Review every field meticulously before submission. Print the revised confirmation page immediately as your definitive proof that the NTA database has registered your corrections.

FAQs

Can I change my exam city choices during correction?

Check the current correction notice. Some fields may not be editable, so follow only what the official portal allows.

Will NTA accept correction requests via email after the date?

No. The NTA explicitly states that no corrections will be entertained via email, fax, or physical letters after the online window closes.

Is there a base fee just to use the correction facility?

Generally, accessing the facility is free, but you must pay if your specific edits (like a category change) alter the original application cost.
