Understanding Your Merit Rank

Your merit rank is the sole determining factor for admission into the 5-year Integrated MSc programmes. The NEST committee calculates this rank using the best three subject scores from the four sections you attempted (Biology, Chemistry, Mathematics, Physics).

If your dashboard indicates that you have qualified, you are eligible to participate in the admission rounds. A non-qualified status means you cannot proceed further in this cycle.

The Gap Before Scorecard Download

When the scorecard becomes available as per the official schedule, it should be downloaded from the NEST login and kept as a clean PDF copy.

Keep printed copies ready if the admission instructions ask for them. Do not depend on cropped screenshots or forwarded scorecard images.

What the Scorecard Will Contain

When the scorecard becomes available on June 30, it will detail your section-wise percentile scores and your overall merit rank.

This document is required for the physical or online counselling process. You must print clear copies of it; screenshots or unauthorized printouts will not be accepted by the verification officers.

Preparing for Institutional Counselling

NISER and CEBS manage their admission processes independently after the NEST results are published. The NEST portal will issue guidelines on how the counselling sessions will be conducted—whether in person or online.

Monitor the official portal closely for the release of the counselling schedule. Missing your designated counselling slot will miss your earned merit seat.
