Submitting Your Willingness
The first major decision during online reporting is selecting your willingness option. You must tell the system what you want to do with your allotted seat.
Choose ‘Freeze’ if you are completely satisfied and do not want upgrades. Choose ‘Float’ to accept the seat but remain eligible for higher preferences in any institute. Choose ‘Slide’ to accept the seat but seek a better branch within that exact same institute.
The Importance of Timeline Strictness
The JoSAA schedule is immovable. The deadline for online reporting in Round 1 is final, and no extensions are granted for network issues or bank delays.
Complete your willingness submission and fee payment on the first day. This gives you a buffer in case your payment fails or a verifying officer requests alternative documents.
Tracking the Verification Status
After you submit everything, a verifying officer will evaluate your profile. Your reporting is not complete until this officer approves your submission.

The online reporting process concludes only when you generate and download the Document Verification-cum-Seat Acceptance Letter.
