The National Testing Agency declared the UGC NET June 2026 result on 28 August 2026 for 84 subjects. Of the candidates who appeared, 4,241 qualified for JRF and Assistant Professor. However, NTA has separately announced a re-examination for three subjects — English, Commerce and Sociology — after receiving complaints about errors in their question papers. The re-exam carries no additional fee and the result for these three subjects will be declared after the re-exams are complete.

Candidates appearing in the re-exam do not need to pay any additional fee. The exam city intimation slip for the re-exam has been live at ugcnet.nta.nic.in since 1 September 2026. Download your slip before the exam — it contains your exam centre address and reporting time.
UGC NET June 2026 Result — 84 Subjects (Declared 28 August)
The result for 84 subjects is out and scorecards are downloadable from the official NTA portal. Qualifying status, subject-wise cut-off marks and JRF/Assistant Professor eligibility are all listed on the scorecard. The result for English, Commerce and Sociology will be declared separately after the re-examinations on 9 and 10 September.

Why Was the Re-Exam Called?
NTA received complaints from candidates about multiple errors in the question papers for English, Commerce and Sociology in the June 2026 session. Rather than adjusting marks post-facto, NTA decided to re-conduct these three papers in full. This is consistent with the approach NTA has used in recent cycles when paper errors affect a significant number of candidates. Only candidates who originally appeared in these three subjects are required to re-appear; all other subjects’ results stand as declared on 28 August.
