If you took PCM (Physics, Chemistry, Maths)
Engineering through JEE is the best-known route, leading to the IITs, NITs and hundreds of other colleges. But PCM also leads to architecture, the defence services through NDA, merchant navy, and B.Sc. degrees in physics, mathematics, computer science and data science, along with newer fields like AI and design. If you enjoy problem-solving but are unsure about engineering, a strong B.Sc. followed by specialisation is a genuinely good path.
If you took PCB (Physics, Chemistry, Biology)
NEET and MBBS get all the attention, but PCB opens many more careers: dentistry (BDS), nursing, pharmacy (B.Pharm), physiotherapy, biotechnology, microbiology, agriculture and allied health sciences. These fields are in real demand, often cost far less than a private medical seat, and lead to stable, respected careers. If NEET does not go your way, these are not “backups” — they are strong choices in their own right.
